On May 17th Highland Neighborhood Association Committee had our Walking Town Meeting with Mayor Drake. Ralph Cook with Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation Department, a Naturalist, also joined us for the evening. We couldn't have asked for better weather, and the City had a BBQ for all that walked. We met at the Highland Forest Park, walking through the park from 142nd to the pond area at 136th Avenue. Mike Dillon, the chair of Highland N.A.C., talked about the improvements and upgrades the Neighborhood would be doing with a matching grant we received from the city. From Forest Park we then continued the walk to the City of Beaverton's Water Storage facility off 136th. Mayor Drake explained the function of this facility, and our walked continued back down to 142nd examining the road improvements along the way.
It was a good walk, and we covered some concerns of our neighborhood. The city took the enclosed pictures, you can open and see.
Enjoy.
