|
Minutes: Minutes from the November Meeting were approved with the following Corrections: McCormick is spelled MacCormick. Under PROPOSAL TO RENAME FIR GORVE PARK: Marv Doty made a motion to form a committee to further research this project not support the project. |
| Police Report: Officer Jud Moore passed out October and November flow charts regarding crimes/calls for service in Beaverton and our Neighborhood. In the Highland Neighborhood we had 353 calls in October and went down to 304 calls for service in November. Officer Moore also passed out some Identity theft brochures. He briefed on the new law in Oregon and explained the Class C felony for identity theft. Identity Theft seems to be the biggest problem with forgeries and frauds outside of traffic stops. Questions were brought up about speeding on Wilson, it was suggested anyone can call Officer Dean Meisner for traffic concerns. There are also volunteers available to use for radar guns if needed. |
| Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue: They were scheduled for tonight, however with the wet weather, they have been very busy and were unable to attend. |
| Treasurer’s Report: Craig Bass said our balance is $2,192.21. Craig was unable to switch the account to Evan Lloyd the new treasurer as the bank required a copy of the November minutes which were obtained tonight. Evan Lloyd will have the report at our January meeting. |
| CCI Report: Marv Doty reporting the new officers take their position in January, Bob Tenner mentioned Marv is the new Chair for CCI this next year. Marv and Bob have been revising the by laws and looking for more NAC members to come onto CCI. During the first few months CCI will be working on confirming dates for future events including the Clean Up day. CCI is also working with the NAC’s to have everyone conform to fall elections so the CCI NAC Representative will come on in January along with the CCI board and be able to serve a full term. Highland NAC elections are fine. |
| Renaming Fir Grove Park: The current committee: Bill Verhoef, chair; Marv Doty and Tracie Stout. Bill presented an article to the NAC that ran in the Oregonian. Bill also discussed the picture that was taken regarding the pass off of the Park with the Park Named as MacCormick Park. Barbara Wilson let us know that when she was serving on the park district board that the property turning into a Park is carried as the property owner name until it is officially named. In 1972 local matching funds were needed for the park purchase. Barbara Wilson is concerned that everyone needs to be treated fairly, if the TVP&R changes this name then why wouldn’t’ over the last 26 years of park purchase owner have the right to change the name of every piece of land purchased for park use. If a piece of land is donated then the name of the park is carried by the person donating it, however, this piece was purchased and the name was carried only until purchase was complete then TVP&R named it for the Fir Grove Trees present. Barbara invited the committee to come down to TVP&R and review the minutes from all the board meetings during that time and bring back further information to the NAC. Bill accepted the invitation on behalf of the committee. |
| Forest Park Clean Up Day: Shawn Blumberg is recruiting for the clean up day this weekend. Jack Franklin of the Optimist Club will be donating the trailer and Tractor for use of spreading the gravel and bark chips on the trails. This Saturday at 9AM until 1PM, will be the last day for the work in the park on behalf of our Matching fund grant. Mike Dillon also recapped on the pond vegetation planting last month. Craig and Tammy Bass will be BBQ’ing lunch for all volunteers. Rain or Snow the clean up day in on per Mike Dillon. Entrance is off of Sexton Mountain Court, south side of Park. TVP&R will have the donated gravel and bark chips dumped there for us. |

| Meeting adjourned at 8:22pm: for NAC Christmas Social. |
