Call to order 7:04 PM by Craig Bass

Minutes: Our recorder was unavailable the review and approval of November will be with the December minutes in February.

 

Beaverton Fire:  Unable to make the meeting 

 

Beaverton Police:  Officer Purdy reported on the thefts that occurred were bikes out of garages.  2-burglaries of computers were stolen out of the schools.  1-car stolen from a garage, keys left in garage, person went through side door, car was recovered.  The sex offense cases have been closed and person of relation.  New statistics were passed around for the Highland Neighborhood.  There were no sex offenses and Robberies. 

 

 Treasurer Report:  $4,390.79 Bank Balance.  $30 deposit on final farmer market booth. $3,899.56 balance now after some expenses for tonight and the plants for Sorrento Round.  Evan delivered the letters and donations of $250 each to Highland Middle School and Fir Grove School, both Principals were great full. 

 

New Board of Director:  Dori Tenner proposed we accept Dean Wilson as treasurer and Marv Doty 2nd this.  Evan asked that Dean Wilson also take over the Farmers Market booth scheduling and funds.  Dean said he would also accept this.  Open for discussion.  Marv Doty will still do the ordering and scheduling for the Booth and Dean the funding.  Board voted and approved Dean as new treasurer.

 

Craig gave out certificates of appreciation to Tammy Bass and Evan Lloyd for the last two years of service.  Thank you from the board for you has done.

 

 

Boy Scouts:  Joan Lloyd motioned that the NAC make a donation of $50 to the Eagle project for our neighborhood.  Elva made a 2nd.  Evan asked that we make the donation to the troop on behalf of Jeff Witenburg.  This would be with a letter for the scoutmaster to make sure that the funds were appropriated.  Board voted all approved. Barbara will write the letter.

 

Mailing List:  Joan reviewed the mailing list.  Instead of going door to door it may be easier to make phone calls.  The list with phone numbers and addresses from the NAC office has been given to Joan.  Open for discussion.  Suggestions putting a note on the agenda that is mailed out each month.  Also have the NAC office put a card into each mailing for response.  There are 22 pages with 15 people on each sheet.  Joan called one sheet.  Two wanted to be added, two gave out there email address to be added, and a couple had no responses.  Joan will make a copy of the master list and pass out the list in February.

 

Next meeting:  At Southridge High School 7pm 2nd Thursday in January.  We will have refreshments and meeting with other NAC’s with the CEO of Haggan store going in on Murray.  We as a NAC will not be there in favor or against the store going in, its informational and mixing with the other NAC’s and a public relations meeting with Haggan.  It was brought up that Craig get an agenda for this meeting on put it on our agenda-what is on the agenda and what is it for.

 

Budget Committee:  Marv talked with Gene Stauber regarding the award case that was to be made.    Gene will continue to work on this.  The banners that we would like to have for a waterproof banner made and Gene will continue to work on this project also.  Evan asked that we renew the scholarship for this year for Southridge and Beaverton High School for the 2004  $500 scholarship.  Evan Lloyd made the motion.  The person awarded had to fill out an application, and live in the area.  Dean would like to up the scholarship to a $750 scholarship, Marv seconded the increase.  Voted and approved

Dean made a motion to donate $500 to the Oregon Food Bank and Barbara 2nd it, this will be made in May or June of 2004. 

 

Care Committee:  Elva passed around a card to have the board sign it for a neighbor that has become ill and recovering athlete from Beaverton high School.  Also Marv reported that a board member is recovering from surgery and a card will be sent to him also.

 

Recognition:  Marv passed around an article from the Valley Times on Barbara Wilson and all her hard work on the Parks.  Thank you Barbara for all your help.
