Minutes from the September meeting were approved as changed. The budget set up for Fir Grove plaque dedication was only $14 and $10 for coffee and signs were spent.

Beaverton Police: Officer Mike pulled stats from August for Highland there were 8 robberies. Two of these were from garage doors left open. These stats are from July and August. Therefore, graffiti was up and there were three sex offenses. Officer Jason Cockreham needs to be contacted if commercial owners would like to sign up for a trespassing program, to have the Police department act of their behalf in the event that they need to take care of in absence of the owner.
Sorrento Round was tabled with update to next months meeting
Dog Laws: Problems with dogs off leash and running on school grounds are still a problem.
BCCI- Marv reported that
(Beaverton Committee for Citizens Involvement)
Hearthstone: Walter Friesen, spoke regarding the Hearthstone extension on Hart Road. In 1995 Walter had completed 25 years of counseling. At retirement Walter decided to
help or assist the elderly. They built their first assisted living establishment 8 years ago. Hearthstone at Murryhill was also built for assistance for Alzheimer’s, elderly apartments. Hearthstone of Beaverton needs to be expanded by purchasing the neighboring land. This would enable people to have a large activity room, new apartment type living quarters and more parking, street development, and 8 more parking spots off the street. They would also like to install a generator to assist in power outages. The facility will be some one story, bungalow style and some two stories. There will be a buffer zones and 25 feet set backs for neighbors. There will be one home that will be destroyed in construction. These units will be rental for the elderly, approximately $3,300 a month for level one care, full meals.
ARGO/Architect- Ted Argo spoke regarding the proposal on a flexible set back. This is to enlarge the house. This is to extend the current house to be closer than 25 feet to back yard line. The 2nd floor that will be closest to the back is not an activity place. Per the City they are also here to discuss the proposal as only a pre application has been submitted. All people within 500 feet of the property will be notifying upon further application process. The garage side of the house with brick is projection of kitchen not a stair well. The house behind this house is a one-story house and this house being turned into a 2nd story house and being close to the property line will cause a privacy problem possibly, per a neighbor concern. A neighbor on the southwest corner of the house in question would like the 25 ft set back should remain due to a privacy issue. There is another concern of a drain between the back yards from 32nd to Hyland Middle School.
