A CHECK was presented to Allan Deckard, Highland Park Middle School for $300 for special projects at Highland.  He said the money would be used for additional books in the library that would be of interest to boys to encourage them to read.

In addition to the  check presented to A. Deckard, the NAC also issued a check to Fir Grove Elementary for presentation to Zan Hess, Principal, who was unable to attend.
This check will be presented to Zan at the school, and he will be asked to report back to us at a future date how the money was utilized.

BCCI REPORT by given by Craig Bass on the BCCI meeting.

A REPORT was given by Marv Doty regarding Mt. Williams.  Marv is working with County Commissioner Dick Schouten.  Park needs money by end of March deadline.

CIRCLE GARDEN::  The NAC budgeted $250 for the Circle Garden.  The Matching Fund application for $250 was completed by Jeff Menzel and submitted to the City.   It is anticipated the paper work will be accepted and  matching funds issued allowing our NAC a total of $500 to purchase items for Circle Garden.   Jeff Menzel indicated next steps would be a rough list of plants to buy.  Two more volunteers needed for garden work:  Bill Chown volunteered for work on the irrigation system.

PROPOSED REVISIONS TO BEAVERTON CODE:  Bill Young reported that he talked with Megan at the City of Beaverton regarding the Proposed Revisions to the Beaverton Code.  Bill indicated that we will need to change our bylaws to match the revised code but he indicated there was nothing in the changes of the code that should concern us.

PLANNING CALENDAR:  Bill Chown gave a report on the NAC planning calendar.

TWO SALEM LEGISLATORS will be invited to speak at our NAC meeting in May to give a report on the progress of legislation in Salem.   Representative Jeff Barker and Senator Ryan Deckert represent this district.

VISITOR FROM METRO:   A representative from Metro will be invited to speak at our NAC.  Carl Hosticka represents this area on Metro.  Bill Chown will invite Mr. Hosticka.

SUMMER PICNIC:  There were no volunteers for the summer picnic.

A PLAQUE was given to Craig Bass for his service as NAC president for two years.

SATURDAY MARKET:  Marv Doty has met with Ginger Rapport, Market Manager.  It is OK to raise the rent.  May 7 is the opening date for applications.  Marv indicated a meeting would be held for applicants to discuss rules of the market.  Marv said there is no room in the storage trailer and we never get our own tent.  We need better tubs for cold drinks, and we need to retrieve returnable cans more effectively.   Marv and Dean Wilson will follow through with additional details regarding the market.   Marv asked for time on the agenda next month so they can report on progress.

STUDENT REPS:  We will need to amend our bylaws to allow two student reps.  Each student rep will need to get a letter approving role as student rep at the NAC.

WEB SITE:  It was brought to our attention that a one-year renewal of our WEB site is $41.  If we renew for 5 years, the cost is $47.  It was consensus that $47 for 5 years was a better bargain.

Meeting was adjourned at 9 pm.
