DISCUSSION
–THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED FIRE DEPT REPORT
The Fire Dept. has been invited to report every month, however, attendance has been sporadic.
Motion:
A
motion was made by Marv Doty, and seconded by Juanita Coparanis that the Fire
Dept should be invited to the Highland Park NAC meeting on a quarterly
basis. Jeff Menzel will issue an
invitation to the Fire Department for a quarterly report.

REPORT
from the Police Department – Officer Scott Burke. - Officer Burke gave a report
on graffiti, identity theft, and thefts from automobiles in the NAC area.

CHECK was presented to Allan Deckard,
In addition to the check
presented to A. Deckard, the NAC also issued a check to Fir Grove Elementary
for presentation to Zan Hess, Principal, who was unable to attend.
This check will be presented to Zan at the school, and he will be asked to
report back to us at a future date how the money was utilized.

REPORT by given by Craig Bass on the BCCI meeting.

REPORT was given by Marv Doty regarding
PROPOSED
REVISIONS TO
PLANNING CALENDAR: Bill Chown
gave a report on the NAC planning calendar.
TWO
SALEM LEGISLATORS will be invited to speak at our NAC meeting in May to give a
report on the progress of legislation in
VISITOR
FROM METRO: A representative from Metro
will be invited to speak at our NAC.
Carl Hosticka represents this area on Metro. Bill Chown will invite Mr. Hosticka.
SUMMER
PICNIC: There were no volunteers for the
summer picnic.

PLAQUE was given to Craig Bass for his service as NAC president for two years.
SATURDAY MARKET: Marv Doty has
met with Ginger Rapport, Market Manager. It is
OK to raise the rent. May 7 is the
opening date for applications. Marv
indicated a meeting would be held for applicants to discuss rules of the
market. Marv said there is no room in
the storage trailer and we never get our own tent. We need better tubs for cold drinks, and we
need to retrieve returnable cans more effectively. Marv
and Dean Wilson will follow through with additional details regarding the
market. Marv asked for time on the agenda next month
so they can report on progress.
STUDENT
REPS: We will need to amend our bylaws
to allow two student reps. Each student
rep will need to get a letter approving role as student rep at the NAC.
WEB
SITE: It was brought to our attention
that a one-year renewal of our WEB site is $41.
If we renew for 5 years, the cost is $47. It was consensus that $47 for 5 years was a
better bargain.
