POLICE REPORT – Officer Steve Schaer – Beaverton Police Dept. gave a brief report.  Now that

warmer weather is here, residents must remember to close garage doors, AND car windows to avoid attracting juvenile crime.

 

REPORT FROM CHRIS PARKIN, WESTS BEAVERTON NAC CHAIR REGARDING MT.

WILLIAMS – a 30-acre parcel proposed for a city park.   Community has until the end of the month to

to raise $200K for “the local share” of the money. There is an option to buy at $2.7 M.   The remainder of the money will come from State, Federal, municipal sources as well as Trust for Public Lands.  The property is assessed at market value of $5M.  The property is the highest point in the area with views of all mountains.  It is located west of Murray at approximately 170th and Davis Roads. 

 

REPORT FROM CRAG BASS – BCCI:  annexation problems; there will be a parking garage at

the Round,”  there is 62% support of photo-radar in Beaverton, but some state legislators are

opposed;  Moji gave a report on widening of Hwy 217; Cornell Road will be widened.

 

REPORT ON COMMUNITY BOOTH – Marv Doty was not in attendance but he sent communication

that he met with Raymond of Beaverton Bakery and got a new price list.  Dean Wilson and Marv Doty will meet to discuss rate increase and prepare a new application.  Marv will update new clients and

multiple turns in the booth will be discouraged.  After Dean and Marv meet to discuss, they will report back to the NAC.   May 7 is the opening date.

 

 

DISCUSSION REGARDING AN OFFICIAL LIST OF NAC MEMBERS - NAC officers will place a stronger emphasis on keeping the Board member list current and accurate..  According to the Bylaws, if a person has three unexcused absences, he/she is no longer a member.  It was agreed by consensus that Jeff  Menzel will review the attendance sheets, and he will contact those persons who are listed as members but who are not attending to determine who is a member.

 

CALENDAR:  No official  report regarding the calendar.  Jeff reminded attendees that May 12 two state legislators, Ryan Deckert and Jeff Barker will attend  to talk about the state legislature.   June 4 is city clean-up day which is a money-maker for the NAC. 

 

By  8:15 pm,  Dorrie Tenner and Tammie Bass were in attendance which made a quorum.

MOTION REGARDING MT. WILLIAMS:  Bill Young made a motion to send a $500 check to

the Trust for Public Lands as a contribution to the local share in the purchase of Mt. Williams..

Seconded by Dorrie Tenner.  Passed unanimously.

MOTION REGARDING THE OPERATIONS OF THE COMMUNITY BOOTH was made by Barbara Wilson,  seconded by Bill Young to authorize Dean Wilson and Marv to meet to make decisions regarding the operations of the Community Booth and report back to the NAC next month...  After discussion, Tammie Bass made a motion to table.  Bill Young seconded.  Vote was unanimous to table.

FLOWERS FOR ELLEN LEVNO. Motion was made by Dean Wilson and seconded by Bill Young to reimburse Jeff Menzel $40 for his purchase of flowers for Ellen Levno.  Vote was unanimous in favor.

 

 

A letter was received from Beaverton High School recommending Andrea Menzel’s participation in the Highland NAC.
