scholarship money for books and miscellaneous other school expenses.

MOTION PASSED unanimously.

ACTION ITEM:  Jeff Menzel will call Bonnie Heaton at the school district and inquire how we can guarantee that the scholarship check will be used for college-related expenses and if the tuition is overpaid by several scholarships, how could the student receive the over payment.

MATCHING FUNDS FROM THE CITY GRANT APPLICATION:   It was agreed by consensus and a straw poll that the NAC did not support a project proposal to seek matching funds from the city.

BCCI:  Craig Bass said there had been no meeting of BCCI because of the holidays.

BEAVERTON FARMERS MARKET BOOTH:  Marv Doty reiterated that he would not be doing the management oversight for the Farmers' Market.  Jeff Menzel asked for volunteers to help Dean Wilson.  After discussion it was agreed that a rotation system would be put in place where different NAC members would agree to instruct the participants to set-up and tear down the booth every Saturday.    Some participants are self-reliant; some need instructions reiterated.  Oversight is necessary to be sure there is no misunderstanding on what is required.  We will need a pool of volunteers from the NAC.  ACTION ITEM:  We will discuss this matter more thoroughly next month.

MISCELLANEOUS:

1.  Jeff Menzel announced that Mayor Rob Drake will be at the NAC meeting next month.

2.  Jeff Menzel asked if the NAC wanted to invite pro and con speakers regarding the upcoming school bond.   It was consensus that we did not want to schedule speakers regarding the school bond because this will be presented at the BCCI Voter's Forum.

Meeting adjourned at 9 pm.
